The rapid urbanization of Lagos, Nigeria has led to an increasing population of young people seeking economic opportunities and financial stability. Qualitative interviews were conducted with a sample of 50 young individuals aged between 18-24 years, living in various neighborhoods of Lagos city. The analysis reveals that while digital financial services offer convenience and accessibility, there is also significant concern about the security and privacy issues associated with these platforms. Urban youth in Lagos are increasingly adopting digital finance to improve their economic status but face challenges related to trust and security concerns. Policy makers should focus on enhancing cybersecurity measures for digital financial services, alongside increasing public education campaigns about the benefits of using such services.
