The Role of African Universities in Angola's Knowledge Production and Dissemination Processes

Angola has a significant number of universities that play a crucial role in knowledge production and dissemination within the country's academic landscape. However, the extent to which these institutions contribute to Angola's knowledge economy remains underexplored. The study employs a qualitative approach involving semi-structured interviews with key stakeholders including university administrators, researchers, and students. Data were analysed using thematic analysis to identify patterns and themes related to knowledge production and dissemination. Analysis revealed that while universities in Angola are active participants in research and education activities, there is a notable gap in the translation of their outputs into practical applications or community outreach programmes. The findings indicate a need for greater collaboration between academic institutions and local communities to enhance knowledge dissemination and impact. Universities should be encouraged to integrate more interdisciplinary projects that address real-world challenges.
