Resveratrol inhibits renal ischemia and reperfusion injury in diabetes via reducing oxidative stress, inflammation, and apoptosis
Key Points
This research aims to investigate how resveratrol can reduce renal injury caused by ischemia and reperfusion in diabetic conditions.
Evaluated the effects of resveratrol in a diabetic model of renal ischemia/reperfusion injury
Assessed oxidative stress levels and inflammatory markers
Analyzed signaling pathways including Nrf2/HO-1 and TLR4/NF-κB
Resveratrol significantly reduced signs of kidney injury during ischemia/reperfusion
It lowered oxidative stress and inflammatory responses
The study highlighted enhanced Nrf2/HO-1 signaling and reduced TLR4/NF-κB activity.
Abstract
These findings indicate that RSV could attenuate renal I/R injury in diabetes, possibly by enhancing Nrf2/HO-1 signaling and suppressing the TLR4/NF-κB pathway.
