Heroism of the Historical Past as a Component of Patriotic Education of Student Youth

The article explores the role of the heroic past as a fundamental element in the patriotic education of Ukrainian student youth. Against the backdrop of Russia’s full-scale aggression, the authors emphasize the importance of restoring historical memory, raising civic awareness, and forming national identity through education. Heroism of past generations is presented as an essential factor in developing resilience, dignity, and democratic values. Particular attention is given to the role of literature, art, and scholarly works in transmitting historical truth and fostering pride in Ukrainian culture and statehood. The article underlines the necessity of systematic patriotic education that integrates examples from both history and the present.
