Relevance . The digital transformation of the Russian agro-industrial complex is a key factor in increasing the competitiveness and economic efficiency of agricultural production in the context of import substitution. Modern challenges to food security require scientific substantiation of the economic effects of introducing information technologies in the agricultural sector. The purpose of the study is to determine the economic efficiency of introducing digital technologies in Russian agriculture and identifying priority areas of digitalization. Methods . The methodological basis was economic and mathematical modeling, correlation and regression analysis of data from 450 agro-industrial enterprises of various types of ownership for the period 2022–2024. Results . The results showed that digitalization provides an increase in labor productivity by 24.8%, a decrease in operating costs by 18.6%, an increase in production profitability by 16.9%. The correlation coefficient between the level of digitalization and economic indicators is r = 0.776. The greatest economic effect is provided by precision farming technologies (payback period of 2.7 years) and automated livestock management systems (3.2 years). The theoretical significance of the work lies in the development of a methodology for a comprehensive assessment of the effectiveness of digital transformation of the agroindustrial complex. The practical value lies in substantiating priority areas of state support and investment in digital technologies for various types of agricultural enterprises.
