The growth of the world’s population, combined with shifting global dynamics and the impacts of climate change, has highlighted the need for a sustainable and efficient food production system. In response, the European Union has launched the European Green Deal, aiming to achieve climate neutrality by 2050 (European Commission, 2020a), alongside the Farm to Fork strategy, which seeks to transform European food production systems (European Commision, 2020b) as one of the objectives of the Green Deal.
