Abstract This document formalizes ABL-1, the Ambient Broadcast Law, as a foundational principle of the Ambient Era. ABL-1 states that systems, infrastructures, and environments communicate their state through ambient chromatic broadcast rather than symbolic queries, applications, or agent-based interaction. Under ABL-1, meaning is emitted as a field condition instead of transmitted as information. Color functions as a low-entropy, perceptual signal conveying availability, flow, disruption, or neutrality. Interpretation occurs immediately, without language, interfaces, or cognitive overhead. ABL-1 reframes communication as an environmental property, enabling real-time situational awareness without extraction, surveillance, or symbolic mediation. Chromatic broadcast is defined as a field phenomenon rather than a visual or symbolic signal. A Chromatic Field State (CFS) does not rely on visible light or physical emitters; it is a modulation of ambient field conditions that can be perceived by AP₁-class systems without packets, addresses, or interfaces. This document establishes the foundational law governing passive, reversible, post-symbolic environmental communication within the Ambient Era Canon.
