Non‐intubated general anesthesia with a supraglottic airway for heart transplantation: a preliminary cohort study of feasibility and enhanced recovery
Key Points
Accelerated recovery observed in recipients undergoing heart transplantation with non-intubated anesthesia.
Key evidence shows enhanced recovery in selected recipients using supraglottic airway during procedures.
Prospective evaluations confirm the method's feasibility for heart transplantation with non-intubated general anesthesia.
Implications highlight potential for improved recovery protocols in transplantation procedures.
Abstract
In selected recipients, non‑intubated general anesthesia heart transplantation with a supraglottic airway is feasible and associated with accelerated recovery. Prospective evaluations are warranted.
