The legal framework in Uganda aims to promote sustainable development through various legislative measures. A mixed-methods approach including a structured questionnaire survey among stakeholders from government agencies, NGOs, and academia to gather comprehensive data on legal provisions related to sustainable development. The survey revealed that while there is significant emphasis on environmental protection laws, implementation challenges are prevalent due to resource limitations and enforcement issues. Uganda's current legal framework for sustainable development needs strengthening with a focus on improving compliance mechanisms and enhancing stakeholder engagement. Strengthening institutional capacity, increasing public awareness, and adopting more stringent penalties for non-compliance are recommended to address the identified challenges.
