The paper considers the construction of a computational grid for a cylinder for the dynamic wave propagation in linearly elastic media. The grid-characteristic method is used for numerical solution. Block-structured and chimera grids are used for a circle and a cylinder. The influence of the computational grid structure on numerical anisotropy was investigated. The calculations showed that the wave propagation result depends less on the direction on the chimera grid than on the block-structured grid, but the calculation time on the chimera grid is longer compared to the block-structured grid.
