ECR Spotlight is a series of interviews with early-career authors from a selection of papers published in Journal of Experimental Biology and aims to promote not only the diversity of early-career researchers (ECRs) working in experimental biology but also the huge variety of animals and physiological systems that are essential for the ‘comparative’ approach. Mylène Vonderscher is an author on ‘ Moving against inertia, friction and gravity: different modalities, same consequences for animal propulsive force capacity’ and ‘ Evaluation of mammalian endurance using accelerometry in natura: bridging exercise physiology and ecology’, published in JEB. Mylène is a PhD Student in the lab of Pierre Samozino and Baptiste Morel at Interuniversity Laboratory of Human Movement Sciences, Savoie Mont Blanc University, France, investigating the locomotion capacities of animals (mainly humans), particularly on inclined terrain and under the effect of fatigue.
