ABSTRACT Due to the existence of electric bicycles (EBs) with different specifications in the market, the number of equipped batteries varies. Therefore, it is crucial for wireless power transfer (WPT) systems to output voltages of different specifications to charge EBs. This paper proposes a multi‐mode WPT system based on a reconfigurable magnetically integrated transmitter with a lightweight receiver side, which can charge different EBs. The transmitter consists of two coupled coils integrated together. By reconfiguring the coupling circuit on the transmitter, the system can selectively operate in an S‐S compensated dual‐coil structure for constant current (CC) mode and two S‐S‐S compensated three‐coil structures for two constant voltage (CV) modes. Among them, the two three‐coil structures can output two different voltage specifications due to their different circuit parameter configurations, thus meeting the charging requirements of two different specifications of EBs. Therefore, the system has strong versatility. In addition, the receiver side only has one series compensation capacitor, which conforms to the lightweight design. To verify the feasibility and practicality of the system, an experimental prototype with a charging configuration of 3.5 A/66 V/53 V is built.
