Described herein is the application of a chiral Mn(II) catalyst (6) derived from the commercially available chiral diamine trans-1,2-diaminocyclohexane to the highly enantioselective oxidation of a variety of mono-, di-, and trisubstituted olefins or various organosulfur(II) compounds.
