Parental involvement in the educational process of children with intellectual disabilities is a key factor influencing their academic achievement, social integration and overall development. This paper analyses different forms of parental participation, their benefits and possible barriers that may hinder parents' active involvement. Based on the available research, recommendations for practice are formulated aimed at strengthening school-family collaboration, effective communication and creating a supportive learning environment. The study highlights the importance of systematic collaboration between educators, parents and community organisations that can contribute to the successful education and inclusion of children with special educational needs.
