Regulations concerning nano fertilizers

The characteristics of nano-sized fertilizers make it possible to use them instead of conventional fertilizers, generating benefits within the bioeconomy. The challenge for the application of nanoproducts, including nano fertilizers, is the regulations that apply. There is still no unified regulatory framework at the global level that covers all activities involving nano fertilizers. The need for uniform legislation in this area is becoming a key factor for the effective functioning of the sector. The aim of this study is to present the existing regulations concerning nano fertilizers in terms of their characteristics, assessment, and import.
