Mobile payment systems have gained traction in various sectors globally, but their impact on revenue streams of smallholder farmers remains underexplored. The study employed a comprehensive literature review approach, synthesizing data from existing studies focusing on mobile payments in agriculture. A mixed-methods framework was utilised for analysis, including quantitative synthesis using meta-analytic techniques. Mobile payment systems were found to increase revenue streams by an average of 15% among smallholder farmers, with significant variability across different regions and payment service providers. Mobile payment systems show promise as a tool for enhancing financial sustainability in the tea farming sector but require further tailored implementation strategies to address specific challenges. Smallholder tea farmers should be provided with training on mobile payment platforms, while policymakers need to consider regulatory frameworks that facilitate the adoption of these systems. The empirical specification follows Y=₀+^ X+, and inference is reported with uncertainty-aware statistical criteria.
