African Universities' Role in Knowledge Production and Dissemination Paradigm

African universities play a crucial role in knowledge production and dissemination across various fields, including African Studies. In Uganda, these institutions are pivotal to fostering scholarly engagement with local contexts and global trends. The study employs a comprehensive review of existing literature on university functions and contributions to scholarly engagement and policy development. The analysis underscores the need for enhanced collaboration between universities and these external stakeholders to bridge the knowledge divide and ensure broader impact. Recommendations include fostering partnerships with industry leaders, enhancing public engagement initiatives, and integrating traditional knowledge in curriculum development to promote a more inclusive academic environment.
