Assessment of Digital Literacy Programmes in Senegalese School Children: Knowledge Gaps and Improvement Metrics in Tanzania

This study explores digital literacy programmes implemented in Senegalese schools compared to Tanzania's context. The research employed a mixed-methods approach including surveys, interviews, and observation studies. Data were collected from both countries to compare educational outcomes. A notable finding was that while approximately 60% of students had basic digital literacy skills in Tanzania, only 45% demonstrated such proficiency in Senegal. The study identified significant disparities between the two nations in terms of student digital literacy and recommends targeted intervention programmes to bridge these gaps. Specific recommendations include enhancing teacher training on digital literacy, integrating digital skills into school curricula, and providing access to resources such as computers and internet facilities.
