The study employs a qualitative approach, analysing existing documents and interviews conducted with key stakeholders such as university administrators, researchers, and students. A notable finding is that the university has successfully produced over 20% of Uganda's PhD graduates in recent years, highlighting its significant contribution to academic excellence. The findings underscore the importance of robust policies supporting knowledge production and dissemination at African universities like the one in Uganda. Recommendations include enhancing collaboration with industry partners for applied research and increasing funding opportunities for young scholars.
