Telomere recapping prevents pathogenic telomere-to-mitochondrial DNA communication in heart failure
Key Points
This research aims to understand the role of telomere and mitochondrial DNA signaling in heart failure progression and evaluate telomere-targeting gene therapy.
Studied telomere-mitochondrial DNA communication during heart failure progression.
Conducted proof-of-concept gene therapy targeting telomeres to assess cardiac function restoration.
Telomere-mitochondrial DNA communication plays a crucial role in heart failure progression.
Telomere-targeting gene therapy shows potential in restoring cardiac function.
Abstract
Our work establishes the role of telomere-mitochondria DNA signaling during HF progression and provides proof-of-concept of telomere-targeting gene therapy to restore cardiac function.
