Evaluation of Biological Activities of Bioactive Compounds in Experimental Animal

Aim-The main aim of the study to evaluate the biological activities of bioactive compoundsin experimental animal.Methodology: To test the anti-inflammatory response of quercetin, it is done on thecarrageenan-induced paw edema in rats. The anticoagulant activity of Allicin is determinedthrough the clotting time and the platelet aggregation test. MTT assay applied on a cancer cellis used to determine the cytotoxicity and cell proliferation inhibitory action of vinblastine asan anticancer agent.Results: In carrageenan induced rat paw edema was studied shows that pretreatment of ratswith QC (100 mg/kg and 200 mg/kg) shown similar significance in inhibiting thedevelopment of paw edema upto 3 hours. In cotton pellet induced granuloma shows thattreatment of rats with QC- 200 mg/kg showed significant reduction in weight. In Allicin, theresults of the study clearly showed the increase in the clotting time of blood and were foundas dose dependent. The highest concentration of ethanolic extract of vinca shows the cellviability is reduced, indicating a substantial inhibitory effect on the cell line.Conclusion: From the study it was concluded that theethanolic extracts show the betterresults and use for further study.
