本論文では、逐次的棄却型の単純で広く適用可能な多重検定手順を提案する。すなわち、仮説は一度に一つずつ棄却され、これ以上棄却できなくなるまで続けられる。この検定は、真の仮説の組み合わせが何であれ、第一種の誤りに対する所定の有意水準の保護を持つことが示されている。さらに、この検定の検出力特性およびいくつかの可能な応用についても議論する。
