Technical and vocational education and training (TVET) plays a crucial role in skills development within Uganda's educational landscape. No empirical data were collected; this article employs a conceptual analysis approach to examine existing literature and theoretical frameworks related to TVET and skills development in Uganda. TVET remains a vital component of Uganda's skills development strategy but requires strategic adjustments to better meet current and future labour market demands. The government should prioritise policy reforms that emphasise industry collaboration, increased funding for TVET institutions, and targeted training programmes for disadvantaged communities. Universities and private sector partners also have a role in supporting the expansion of TVET offerings and enhancing their relevance to local industries.
