Traditional medicine plays a significant role in healthcare systems across Africa, but its integration into contemporary healthcare systems is often overlooked or under-researched. A mixed-methods approach combining qualitative interviews with structured questionnaires was employed. The sample included 150 participants from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, aged between 25 and 65 years. Findings suggest that approximately 70% of the respondents believe in the efficacy of traditional medicine alongside modern healthcare. The integration of traditional medicine into contemporary Ugandan healthcare systems is perceived positively by a majority of the population, highlighting its potential for broader adoption. Healthcare policymakers should consider integrating traditional medicine as a complementary service within public health initiatives to improve access and quality of care.
