Sustainable Development Approaches in African Legal Frameworks: An Egyptian Perspective

The study examines sustainable development approaches within African legal frameworks in Egypt, focusing on how these frameworks address environmental, social, and economic sustainability. A mixed methods study combining qualitative interviews with legal scholars and quantitative analysis of legislative documents. The research methodology includes a thematic content analysis of laws, an empirical survey of local environmental NGOs, and structured interviews with key stakeholders. Findings indicate that while Egypt has implemented several sustainable development initiatives, there remains a need for more comprehensive legislation addressing climate change impacts and equitable resource distribution among communities. Egypt's legal framework on sustainable development shows potential but requires further refinement to ensure its effectiveness in promoting environmental conservation and social equity. The study recommends the enactment of new laws that explicitly address climate change and enhance community participation in decision-making processes related to sustainable development initiatives.
