Challenges and Opportunities in Education After Conflict in Post-Apartheid African States: A Comparative Exploration in Morocco

Post-conflict African states face significant challenges in education recovery, including infrastructure damage, teacher shortages, and socioeconomic barriers. The study employs qualitative research methods involving interviews with educators, policymakers, and community members to understand current educational contexts and identify potential solutions. A key finding is that despite improvements, teacher retention remains challenging due to low salaries compared to other professions, particularly in rural areas where schools are most needed. While Morocco has made progress in education recovery, ongoing efforts are required to address structural issues such as inadequate funding and limited access to resources. Policymakers should focus on increasing teacher salaries and providing professional development opportunities to enhance retention rates. Additionally, targeted investments in rural areas can improve educational outcomes.
