파라메트릭 상호작용을 위한 양자역학적 모델을 사용하여 측정(증폭) 과정이 방사선의 통계적 특성에 미치는 영향을 평가하였다. 파라메트릭 증폭은 전자기파의 위상과 양자 수를 동시에 결정할 수 있게 하여 불확정성 원리에 의해서만 제한되는 정확도를 갖는 이상적인 방법임을 보여준다. 파라메트릭 프로세스를 통한 주파수 변환은 영점 요동이 없음을 입증하였다.
