The article focuses on the formation of democratic skills among primary school students, through the Civic Education discipline. Proposed methods include visits to local institutions such as the town hall or museum, organizing community projects and using debates and role-plays to simulate democratic processes. These activities aim to connect formal education with community reality, encouraging students to become active and engaged citizens. In addition, the importance of interdisciplinarity is emphasized, by integrating discussions of human rights and democratic values. The teacher promotes dialogue, respect for diversity and peaceful conflict resolution. Through these strategies, students are helped to better understand their role in the community and develop an active civic consciousness. The proposed activities create opportunities for collaboration between the school, students and the community, thus promoting participatory values.
