Objective: The aim of this study is to guide clinicians in our region in empirical treatment and to contribute to the literature by determining the frequency antibiotic resistance of E. coli and Klebsiella spp. strains that cause urinary tract infections in urine samples sent to the microbiology laboratory from various clinics. Methods: In this study, urine cultures obtained from a total of 27,443 midstream urine samples sent from various outpatient clinics and services to the Microbiology Laboratory of a tertiary healthcare institution between January 2016 and September 2019 were evaluated retrospectively. Bacterial identification and antibiotic susceptibilities were performed by conventional methods and automatic systems.
