This research presents the development of "Expense Tracker," a comprehensive web application designed to address the inefficiencies of traditional manual financial logging. Built upon the MERN Stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js), this single-page application (SPA) offers a streamlined, real-time solution for tracking personal income and expenditure. The primary objective of the study was to create a cross-platform tool that integrates robust user authentication, secure database management, and dynamic data visualization. The application leverages the non-blocking architecture of Node.js and the component-based structure of React.js to deliver a high-performance user experience. Key features include custom expense categorization, secure transaction logging, and an integrated visualization module utilizing Chart.js to render spending habits into interactive pie charts and bar graphs. The results demonstrate that transforming raw financial data into visual formats significantly reduces cognitive load, empowering users to make informed decisions, reduce overspending, and achieve savings goals. This project serves as a validated proof-of-concept for scalable, full-stack financial technology solutions.
