Is there a connection between happiness and listening to metal music? An empirical analysis shows that a country’s level of happiness is positively associated with its number of metal bands. On the other hand, the findings of a survey did not find any difference in the level of happiness between metal music listeners and the rest of the population in a particular country. It can therefore be said that the happier a country is, the more metal music it generates, but not that metal music fans are happier than others.
