The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the levels of psychological well-being, self-integration, and coping with a psycho-training program provided to elderly people living alone at home through home visits in Turkiye. The study had a quasi-experimental design based on a pretest and posttest model with an Experimental and Control Group. An 8-week psycho-training program for the elderly was performed within the scope of the cooperation of the municipality and the family social directorate in the present study. The program consisted of an activity program for psychological well-being, integrated self-knowledge, and stress-coping skills. The study was conducted with 54 elderly individuals (27 in the Experimental Group and 27 in the Control Group) over the age of 65, who lived alone at home in the central district of a province and benefited from the home care services of the municipality. Themes that consisted of 4 headings were determined during the home visits, and psycho-training was provided regarding the activities. At the end of the psycho-training, an increase was detected in the psychological well-being levels and integrated self-knowledge averages. With the psycho-training program, an increase was detected in the use of adaptive coping strategies, such as self-confidence and social support approaches, in the experimental group, along with a decrease in the use of helpless approaches and submissive coping strategies. These results show that home visits and applied psycho-training were effective in increasing the psychological well-being of the elderly living in their own homes and alone, and in developing coping skills with the difficulties faced. Future studies are recommended to address interventions for the elderly living in their homes and alone, and in ensuring adaptation to old age.
