To evaluate the use of echogenic diagnosis in identifying bilateral subretinal abscesses in a patient with group B streptococcus endophthalmitis.
Case study of a patient with endogenous endophthalmitis
Utilized B-scan ultrasound to diagnose subretinal abscesses
Assessed visual acuity before and after diagnosis
B-scan successfully identified subretinal abscesses in both eyes
Patient experienced poor visual acuity prior to diagnosis
Effective visualization of abscesses led to better management strategies
Abstract
A patient with group B streptococcus-related endogenous endophthalmitis and subretinal abscesses presented with poor visual acuity. B-scan was useful in identifying the subretinal abscesses in both eyes.
