In order to solve the problem that the heat flow calculation time is so long of modular quartz lamp with reflective screen, a ray tracing method is proposed to calculate the radiant heat flow of modular quartz lamp. The energy beam is released randomly from the surface of the lamp tube, the light beam through the reflective is reflected and exerts on the target surface, and the accumulation of energy beam at each point gets the surface heat flow of the target surface. The surface heat flow is taken as the heat source boundary of the test piece for heat transfer analysis, the internal temperature distribution of the test piece is calculated, and the temperature prediction is realized of the modular quartz lamp. The heating test of typical test component is carried out for modular quartz lamp, and the heat flow and the temperature distribution of typical test components are calculated by ray tracing method and radiation heat transfer. The relative error between the test results and the calculated results is less than 10%, which verified that ray tracing method could realize the prediction of surface heat flow of the modular quartz lamp, and it can provide support for the design of heat intensity test.
