We present a genome assembly from an individual female Falco peregrinus (peregrine falcon; Chordata; Aves; Falconiformes; Falconidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 1 284.65 megabases and 1 209.13 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (94.58%) is scaffolded into 25 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the W and Z sex chromosomes, and 91.1% of the sequence in haplotype 2 is scaffolded into 24 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 18.23 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
