This investigation includes an analysis of the effects of the short-range absorptive potential Wint, included in the Extended Optical Model Framework (EOM) for several weakly bound systems, namely 6He+64Zn, 9Be+28Si, 14N+9Be and 9Be+12C. In addition to Wint, the EOM includes polarization potentials UD, UF, associated with direct and fusion couplings, respectively. The geometric parameters were obtained (for UD), and the optimization of the corresponding strength parameters was carried out for both polarization potentials using the Sfresco code. A parameterization is obtained, which simultaneously reproduces the experimental data of elastic scattering and fusion cross sections, while the dispersion relation is also satisfied. The influence of this absorptive potential Wint has been described by analyzing its effect on angular distributions and reflection coefficients, as well as inspecting the semi-classical deflection function.
