Abstract Oral lichen planus (OLP) is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting the mucous membranes, often presenting with symptoms of pain and burning sensation. A 62-year-old female presented with OLP on the tongue. Initial management was using topical corticosteroids and antioxidants. As the patient later developed ageusia, diode laser ablation was performed, resulting in significant improvement. This case report highlights the efficacy of diode laser therapy in managing symptomatic OLP on the tongue, emphasising its potential as a safe and effective treatment option.
