First, the “Great American Recovery Initiative, ” an Executive Order issued by President Trump on January 29, promised to bring together all of the federal agencies to help the addiction crisis. Then on February 2, Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. announced the dollars behind this Executive Order: 100 million to focus on “treatment that emphasizes recovery and self‐sufficiency. ”
