The aim of the work: to analyze the opinion of doctors about medical and social problems at birth of children with extremely low body weight. The study involved 283 doctors: obstetricians-gynecologists, anesthesiologists-resuscitators and neonatologists. The study was conducted on the basis of perinatal centers and medical organizations of Saratov by the method of continuous questioning of doctors using the author's questionnaire. Most respondents disagree with the change in the standards of medical criteria for birth adopted in 2011 in the Russian Federation. The respondents' opinion is based on their professional experience in obstetrics, nursing and monitoring the subsequent development and quality of life of families with children born with extremely low birth weight.
