AbstractWe present the Sovereign Knowledge Stack, an integrated architecture for preserving cognitivesovereignty under conditions of accelerating information degradation and architecturalinsecurity. The framework synthesises two independently developed researchprogrammes—the Flow Intelligence series (FI-SC-01–07), which addresses semanticcompression, knowledge encoding, and durable storage, and the Sovereign ConnectorFramework (SCF v1.2), which addresses connector security, homeostatic monitoring, andgovernance—into a unified five-layer stack spanning physical substrate through cognitivesovereignty.We ground the architecture in two domains with century-deep experience in high-consequencefailure: aviation safety engineering, which provides analogies for technical redundancy,certification, and envelope protection; and educational intervention, which provides analogiesfor staged rehabilitation, learner autonomy, and dignity preservation. Six documented failuremodes—the Glenn Gould problem (dependency atrophy), the Salisbury poisoning (supply chaincompromise), the −42% compression disaster (efficiency without fidelity), the Capability Ghost(function without understanding), the Composition Spectre (syntactic safety without semanticsafety), and the Tamworth Boys Home pattern (punishment without rehabilitation)—serve asstructural load-bearing elements rather than cautionary decoration.The framework explicitly rejects scalability as a design goal. Successful implementation iswalked away from and forgotten, not replicated at scale. It is offered as a seed bank, not acathedral—a set of principles, specifications, and open questions from which locally adaptedresilient systems may grow. We acknowledge that the uncodifiable qualities of fidelity andhonest intent remain the irreducible foundation upon which every technical mechanismdepends.
