Chronic stress and trauma manifest as persistent multisystem conditions that remain unrecognized because existing diagnostic systems do not capture underlying autonomic dysfunction. This paper proposes the Adrenaline Dysfunction Spectrum (ADYS) as a functional condition characterized by symptoms attributable to chronic sympathetic-adrenergic activation without structural pathology. We outline a theoretical framework using the Ramirez Syndrome Differentiation System–Trauma Stress Relief (RSDS–TSR) platform, which employs a 41-item autonomic symptom inventory, perceived energy ratings, and validated instruments. We propose three core hypotheses: (1) inverse relationship between ADYS symptom burden and perceived energy; (2) non-linear acceleration pattern with symptom intensity increasing progressively with trauma-recall latency; and (3) transdiagnostic expression across ICD-11 diagnostic categories, including conditions not conventionally framed as stress-related. Four illustrative clinical cases with longitudinal monitoring data demonstrate the framework’s utility across diverse presentations. The ADYS framework offers systematic methodology for quantifying chronic autonomic dysfunction as a transdiagnostic functional condition, potentially making a previously invisible condition visible and measurable.
