This article presents a newly discovered fragment of a land lease inscription from Amos, recovered during excavations at a small chapel on the island of Şövalye (ancient Makra) and now housed in the Fethiye Archaeological Museum. Inscribed in Doric Greek on both faces of a limestone stele – transported from Amos as ship ballast and reused as building material – the text exhibits strong parallels with other known Amian leases from the Rhodian Peraia. It outlines detailed agricultural regulations, lease terms, and lessee obligations. Epigraphic and linguistic features indicate a date between 220 and 200 BCE, consistent with the broader corpus of similar documents. The inscription sheds new light on land tenure practices in Rhodian-controlled territories, particularly concerning the management of public/sacred lands.
