Reopening ED-80 ED-254 Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware – status of EUROCAE / RTCA WG-128 / SC-243

This paper will explain the current status for the reopening works for the Aerospace standard “ED-80 DO-254 Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware”. The reopening is managed with EUROCAE and RTCA, with respective Working Groups WG-128 / SC-243. The paper will explain the history of current standard, the motivations and rationale for reopening. It will explain the major stakes. The paper will show the previous works, the way of working for the Working group, the current status and the schedule.
