The η-intercalibration in situ method is one of the key steps of the ATLAS jet energy calibration procedure, aimed to ensure homogeneity of the energy response across the different detector subsystems. For the evaluation of the statistical uncertainties originating from both data and Monte Carlo simulations, a new approach is implemented employing a bootstrap method. This method more accurately determines the statistical uncertainties of the calibration factors and their statistical correlations, compared to the technique previously used. Furthermore, a method is implemented that quantifies the statistical compatibility of the various numerical jet observables which enter the procedure. This test can be used as a cross-check to judge if the obtained calibration is robust or if there is tension between the different terms.
