This article presents a review of current data on the high comorbidity of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and eating disorders (EDs). Common neurobiological and psychopathological mechanisms, such as reward system dysfunction, impulsivity, and emotional dysregulation, are examined. Particular attention is given to the clinical features of comorbidity and the specific relationship between ADHD and various types of eating disorders.
