This article examines extracurricular activities within a unified educational framework, exploring the role of extracurricular activities in deepening and broadening students’ knowledge of the natural world. The article demonstrates the potential for implementing a model for expanding educational opportunities through extracurricular activities using the example of the environmental elective “Trips to Russian Nature Reserves: We Wonder, We Discover, and We Learn to Protect Nature,” developed for second-grade students. Methodological recommendations for organizing this elective in elementary school are provided.
