The Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS) has established itself as a pivotal institution in advancing rural development across Jharkhand. Through the mobilization of millions of households into self-help groups (SHGs), federations, and producer collectives, it has created robust institutional pathways that empower marginalized communities, particularly women and tribal populations. By embedding digital empowerment into its strategies, JSLPS has significantly enhanced financial inclusion, expanded market access, and promoted governance transparency. This paper critically evaluates JSLPS’s role in fostering sustainable livelihoods by examining policy frameworks, secondary data, and illustrative case studies. Key successes include the Palash tribal brand, which connects indigenous products to national markets, ICT-enabled training modules that strengthen capacity, and SHG-led entrepreneurship initiatives that diversify income streams. At the same time, the study acknowledges persistent challenges such as digital literacy gaps, infrastructural limitations, and the need for sustainable ICT adoption to ensure long-term resilience.
