ABSTRACT In this paper, for switched nonlinear multi‐agent systems (NMASs) under directed graphs, a fixed‐time (FT) adaptive event‐triggered (ET) fault‐tolerant consensus problem is studied. In the considered system, the switching signals of each agent are allowed to be arbitrary and asynchronous. To achieve the consensus errors are bounded within a fixed time, a new FT adaptive ET fault‐tolerant control scheme is designed. During the construct process of the control scheme, the unknown functions are approximated by fuzzy logic systems (FLSs), and distributed controllers, as well as a dynamic memory event‐triggering mechanism (DMETM), are designed to save communication resources (CRs). It is proven that consensus errors of the system are bounded within a fixed time, and the Zeno phenomenon does not exist. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed consensus protocol is verified through simulation results.
