This study aims to clarify the spatial size necessary to improve the convenience of restrooms for wheelchair users. To achieve this, experimental equipment was created to replicate a restroom for wheelchair users based on design standards and an actual restroom for wheelchair users in Koriyama City. This study identified that a user friendly restroom for wheelchair users requires either the dimension of the opening direction or the depth to be 2000 mm or more, and it is required that a φ1500 mm circle can be drawn without interfering with the toilet or walls in the floor plan of the restroom.
