Abstract Lo iudicio de la fine del mondo ( The Last Judgement ) is a mystery play written in the Italian vernacular that, at the current state of knowledge, is preserved in a single manuscript kept at the Vatican Library under the signature R. I. IV. 2168. One of the most interesting aspects of this text is its iconographic apparatus. The images depict the various characters on stage, thereby conveying the dynamism of the performance to the reader. A further noteworthy aspect pertains to the parallels that exist between the little book, printed in 1510, and the fresco painted on the right wall of the nave of San Fiorenzo di Bastia (Mondovì) in 1466. This suggests that both the author of the text and the xylographer drew inspiration from the figurative work.
